Having a website is almost a must in today’s digital world where practically everyone is on the internet. For a business, having a website allows you to show off who you are and what you offer. It lets you provide ways for people to get in touch with you, by letting you display contact information such as your address, phone number, e-mail address, and how to find you on social media. It can also provide a way for you to share news and updates with your visitors, and even use it to offer items for sale. But just having a website isn’t enough. You have to be able to drive people to visit your website and convert them from just being visitors into (eventually) full-fledged customers. So how can you improve your website’s conversion rate? There are many different tips and tricks you can use. Here are a few you can try out.
1. Opt-in forms
If you’re going to use opt-in forms to get people to sign up for e-mail newsletters for example, have as few fields as possible for visitors to fill in. This will make it easy on them, it will not make them frustrated and drive them away (who really likes to fill out forms, anyway?), and it will give them more time to spend looking at your site (which is why they came in the first place).
Use testimonials from actual customers. People will be more inclined to use your services or purchase your products if they see positive testimonials about you. Customer reviews are also good to include.
3. Compelling buttons
Don’t just hide your call to action in a simple hyperlink somewhere with your text content. Use eye- catching buttons to highlight your desired actions so they’re easier to see and are more compelling. Make sure button design is attractive, too.
4. Fast load times
Don’t clutter the page with stuff that will slow down its load time. If the page doesn’t load quickly, people will move on. People are rather impatient nowadays and don’t really like to wait. If they have to wait for your page to load, they will just move on to another company’s website. Keep the site design simple so it’s fast to load and easy to navigate.
5. Clear statement
Have a good value proposition and clearly state it and the value of your product or service on your website. Make it easy to understand as well as interesting enough to catch your visitor’s attention.
6. Calls to action
Incorporate calls to action into all your content on your page. Make it easy for them to know what you want them to do next, whether it is to click a button, read a post, fill out a form, or whatever.
7. Make it easy to buy
If you’re offering items for sale on your site, make it easy for people to buy from you. Don’t require registration to buy. Don’t offer too many options. Offer coupon codes or bonus discounts at checkout.
Don’t make them have to jump through hoops to check out. Offer free shipping. Offer a variety of payment options. Have a clear return policy.
8. Be memorable
Make your site memorable. Make it so it sticks in their mind so they will want to come back when they’re ready to make a purchase. Use images that will attract attention (but don’t go overboard) and/or reach them emotionally, and use interesting, informative content like articles, reviews, advice, etc. Include a visual demonstration or a sample.
