I have been a part of the PPH family from the beginning as CTO although in the early days that more or less meant sitting in a room with Xenios for hours, working our way through a huge ‘take over the world’ to-do list while trying to come up with solutions to a seemingly never-ending list of problems. 🙂
Fast forward a few years and that room was significantly bigger and we were tasked with filling it with talented team to help drive the company forward. I couldn’t be happier about what PPH has achieved, helping so many freelancers and businesses across the world on a daily basis, and I am super proud of Xenios and the team who keep growing PPH from strength to strength.
I love startups and technology and a couple of years ago inspired by my PPH journey I decided to take on a new challenge and founded Yumbles, a marketplace connecting food lovers with independent food makers.
In my spare time I love hanging out with my family and friends and trying (somewhat extreme) sports most people have never even heard of. I (somehow) ended up holding an M.Eng. (first-class honours) from the University of Cambridge.
Having learnt marketing at Royal Mail – MarketReach, I added more experience and expertise whilst at Dell and Vistaprint. I’ve managed consumer and business-to-business marketing, across pretty much every online and offline channel, with a bit of telesales thrown in. I joined PeoplePerHour, to test new channels and new messages, to boldly go where other PPH marketers haven’t gone before.I have two young daughters, so have been brainwashed into knowing every word of the Disney Frozen movie songs… let it go… let it go…
Having been at PeoplePerHour since Nov/08 I remember the days where the technical landscape was quaint – where we didn’t use Amazon Web Services, or github, where adding rounded-corners to a button took a hour to do, where being a “full stack developer” was actually possible. Technology is changing fast, things are becoming easier and easier to build. It really is ever so exciting! I love being a part of it!
In charge of the company technology, building scalable and robust systems and infrastructure. Constantly in the lookout for great talent and time to do some actual coding. Special knack for new tech and large scale engineering solutions. Prefers not to talk a lot and tries to avoid long meetings – has therefore optimised agile methodology to suit that need. Always trying to find the fastest and easier to maintain solution to every problem while minimising technical debt. Regards himself as very humorous and laughs loudly with his amazing jokes, even if on second thoughts, admits their poor quality. Holds many hobbies and desirable activities, which have been greatly abandoned after having two sons. So has his spare time. Answers irrelevantly to irrelevant questions.
I am a self driven Senior Systems Engineer. My main professional passion is Automation (can’t stand having anything not automated), Distributed Systems, High Availability and Fault Tolerance. My focus is keep things running while bridging the gap between Development and IT Operations teams.
I’m a Jedi knight with light-sabre mastery that uses the Force to build and maintain the payment systems for Peopleperhour since 2011.
I am Software Engineer – DevOps worked with many languages / frameworks my personal preference is JAVA, I like working on solving problems mainly in distributed environments and also play tennis (not strictly on that order) my favorite quote is automate everything.
My main duties in PPH is to participate in the Payments Development Team. My professional experience extends in almost whole lifecycle of Operations and Development process. (Systems and Networks Administration, Automation & Backup Solutions, Cloud infrastructure Designs & Setups, Logging Systems, Security Auditing). I am almost obsessed with Systems visibility and clarity. But among all clouds I ‘ve ever dealt with the most interesting and valuable is my little daughter Nefeli. She is my main inspiration and gives me reasons to be better in all aspects.
I remember my first freelance sketch in ’95 when i was thirteen and got 50 german marks from a 70 year old WW2 veteran. For me 90s was a lot of surrealism, graffiti, street art, walkman and 00s was rounded corners, pale yellow, noise backgrounds, glass effects, PNG transparency fixes, hover mega-menus, tabs, Tahoma, WAP, mobiles and many more.
Technology emerged, we know how to talk to machines but still don’t know how to talk to people.
Now typography, color theory, aesthetics, rythm, possitive stimulation is in everybody’s mouth. User Experience is not about design only, it’s about humanism and the love of the human being. We want to change the world, to make it a better place. We put our souls to it, every single time.
I’ve seen the Fight Club about 99+ times, i hear Pixies everyday, i’m a big fan of B.F.Skinner and D.Rams and my favorite UI/UX is the light switch. “Hey”, in matter of fact i’m hearing Pixies right now and drawing rectancles with my 2 kids. Not bad don’t you think 🙂

I am passionate about design, web standards and typography. I started my professional career as a graphic designer and my intuitive curiosity led me to learn HTML, CSS and JS in order to code my own designs. I am a fan of functionalism, brutalist architecture, krautrock and cheap beer.
I am best known as the guitarist of the heavy metal band Valor but in my spare time I work as a web developer in PeoplePerHour. Since 2011 I have witnessed, built, tested and destroyed most of the PeoplePerHour webpage. I am passionate about backend developing but I can stand frontend/UI coding (with the help of a couple of beers). I am also into sports, I can play Pro Evolution Soccer or watch football games all day long.
Having nearly ten years of concrete working experience in Software Engineering with leading research on Data Mining, Natural Language Processing and Statistical/Stochastic Modeling, I am responsible for providing the company with strategic actionable insights that foster informed decision making and for making the PPH algorithms and systems more data-centric and as intelligent as the ones we see on the movies! Being a good KISS-er (follower of the “Keep It Simple and Straightforward” principle) I like to tackle complex tasks with simple yet efficient solutions. On my free time I like training, but not too much, to avoid overfitting :X!
Being a member of the PPH tech team since 2011, I contributed in rebuilding the app from scratch and cleaning up the legacy mess. During this time I also mastered the skills of extracting/combining data from the database to produce (hopefully) meaningful reports and became a supporter of the DevOps movement. Currently I’m working side-by-side with our Data Scientist and DevOps engineers to implement complex algorithms using cutting-edge tools. I like things to be clean, consistent and efficient. I’m in favor of adopting new tools but detest hype and wasting time on solutions that do not fit my purpose. I enjoy working with others and often wonder why they put up with me. Must be my amazing sense of humour…
I have been a proud member of the PPH team since 2013 and the Customer Service Head Ninja! Customer support runs in my blood as I am not only passionate about it, it is the essence of my adult career (Rockstar didn’t work out) My goal is to provide support that is not just the best, but legendary!! I am proud to have a great team of little ninjas that I call family who have a passion and desire to provide their very best day in and day out. I am excited to be part of the Payments Team, helping to ensure that PPH is a safe and trustworthy place! Prior to PPH, I worked in the banking sector while earning my Master in Business Mathematics. I love data, analytics, and fighting bad guys. When I am not at PPH HQ, you will most likely find me knitting, gardening and eating chocolate.

My job title is Senior Advisor though I do not enjoy this description. I prefer the term of ‘People Per People’. First, because I came up with this name and second of all because I just enjoy helping people. Most of the times I find myself trying to put a smile on people’s faces making then forget their troubles and if, I do not manage to succeed, I will try harder. Trying to by pass any expectations I will make sure you close your Inbox with a big smile on your face. Plus I have this artistic virus inside my veins providing me with a creative and romantic point of view for life making me very emotional while listening to Freddie Mercury. Other than that I am pretty awesome.

Always available and always active, here to solve your issues and answer your questions, and wish you a great day at the end. I am sure that most of you already know me from my long and detailed answers, and the use of any little widget, gadget, etc. to make my replies as comprehensive as possible, but what you don’t know is that I am a really happy person, eager to please and help, and always ready for an adventure whether that be a night out in the city or a trip to the mountain. A citizen of the world and a hitchhiker of the galaxy, raised in different countries and travelled a lot, but as my favourite author said “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.” – Douglas Adams”.

I joined the team in May 2016. Ever since my first job back in 2000, it has been a weary quest. Thanks to my persistent bubbling energy I was pointed towards the right direction. Starting off in accounting, then for 8 years at one of the leading banks in Greece, it was time for a change of pace: my attraction to the niche startup world drove me to make a decisive move! PPH is my newfound hub, where I can finally let my creativity blossom (insert wink emoji). Technology might still be in puberty, though undeniably it has improved our lives in many ways and I am thrilled to now be part of its growing force. May it always be with us.-

Now, I manage the PR at PPH and oversee our presence in both online and offline media. After a hard day’s work of killin’ it with events, Ariele spends her free time reading on her brand new kindle, scoping out coffee shops (she’ll actually admit to rarely finishing a full cup), listen to her vast vinyl collection, and trolling Etsy for her next favorite thing.
Known for unprecedented levels of ambition, drive and work ethic, I joined PeoplePerHour to take charge of email marketing efforts. I am in love with the science and maths behind marketing (although my parents would laugh at reading I have taken an interest in those subjects since I got older)! I have a passion for growing things (although I’m not very good at gardening – that’s a job for my husband), testing and experimenting. I like to help people, and show brands how they can stand out of the crowd and be memorable. Like many other members of the team, I am also a parent and have many hobbies (if by hobbies you mean changing nappies). I am what you would call a “girlie-girl” and therefore it is my duty to like make-up and keeping up with the Kardashians! I like to read, learn and explore the outdoors. I love comedy and a little TV show nobody has heard of called Game of Thrones.
Born on labour day Xenios has been tasked by cosmic forces to disrupt the labour market. He started PPH in mid 2007 manually micro-brokering small projects between business and freelancers using pen, paper and a phone (occasionally email too!).
Today, 700K+ lines of code later, the site serves over 1m people worldwide, and Xenios has gone from pen % paper to being on BBC News, Bloomberg, Wired, Forbes, the Financial Times, and many more, as a thought leader in the burgeoning freelance / on-demand economy.
When not working (which isn’t very often), he blogs , paints, visits Art galleries, cooks a messy meal (more often than not too close to burring his place down), plays sports or watches movies. He holds an MA & MEng from the University of Cambridge and did a short stint at Harvard Business School – enough to convince him never to do an MBA!
Myself, Pawan, I have graduated with a degree in Computer Science and I have experience of more than 16 years in Customer Support / Administration. I have worked in different industries which includes Travel, Electronics and ITES. I spent more than 4 years working as a Call Centre Executive / Sr. Agent for US and UK companies including British Telecom and Earthlink (Internet Service Providers) as a Technical Support (Voice Support) Officer. I joined Peopleperhour in 2010 as an Agent – Customer Support and working till date. I look into moderations and all CS related tasks of the website in the backend. What do I do in the free time – Unfortunately I am tied up with so many things that I really have so little time – of course whenever I get some time, I play with my 3 years old kid. I like Old Indian melodies and Cricket too (of course only watching).

My name is Medisetti Jaswanth Nath. I have graduated in the stream of electronics and communication engineering. My hobbies are surfing the internet, checking new technologies and software, rectifying computer hardware and software issues. I like to spend most of my time with my PC. My strengths are adjusting to the situation and trying to mould myself accordingly. I am working as a Customer Support Agent – Emails for PPH from Nov 2014 till date. My responsibilities are to answer queries related to the website within my scope of support.
Joined PPH as head of product to dynamically expand an already successful product and take it into new paths. I’m a people person, love talking to people, grasping their needs and their potential and turning these into solutions they love. For the past ten years I have designed product solutions and managed numerous projects for companies worldwide across a number of industries. Studied electrical engineering, did research in engineering and applied math. Started ballet again at 29. Everyone thought I was too old but I had to dance on the pointes or die regretting. Never too old to chase a dream I think.
It takes me ages to find the words to describe myself but, hey-ho, every story has to start somewhere. A writer at heart, I joined the team at PeoplePerHour to find and shape their true voice through captivating content. Forget complex strategies, clever hacks, and guerilla marketing – in the noisy world that we live in today, the only truly effective way to be noticed and remembered is through storytelling, consistently A class content and a flaming mission. Driven by the philosophy that one changes the world by doing, I’m always up to something (usually, something good, like learning or shopping online). But then, I’m Lithuanian, so you never know. If we’re at a party, I’m the weirdo going through your bookshelf. And that says it all.

I started out with a Social Media Hourlie that quickly picked up momentum, so when the opportunity came about to work for PPH as their Social Media freelancer I jumped at the opportunity. The best part is I get to share real stories, helpful tips and insightful lessons from people all over the world who are using PPH to make their dreams happen. I love music, cooking, travel and all things leopard print.

The universe conspired to make me leave my career as a Financial Analyst in large multinational companies and land in Athens for good instead of travelling and working mostly in North America and Europe. So I toyed with the idea of freelancing and landed at the PPH office as a virtual office manager. That, I realized was really my cup of tea as it enabled me to do things I love and never really had time to do. Love books, music and riding my bike up a steep hill.
I defected from a career in UK government policy a year ago and gave up office life, a dwindling pension and one too many long meetings to become a freelance virtual assistant. This not only allows me to work from home in my pyjamas, but also utilises my planning and organising skills to best effect. When I’m not working I can be found running ultra marathons, cycling around London or travelling the world with my virtual office.
I am a web developer and I like the problem solving aspect of programming. I love working in small teams, pair programming, sharing knowledge and brainstorming with the other team members while building well structured applications. When I grow up I want to be a game developer.
