Putting the People into PeoplePerHour.com« Back to Blog

1 Comment 02 March 2011

There may be bids, there may be jobs, there may be lots of invoices and accounts but in all honesty PeoplePerHour.com would be nothing without you guys, the PPH community. In the first of a series of blog posts, we intend to lift the lid on what makes PPH People tick.

We want to introduce you to the real people behind some of the success stories we see each day and share their stories. To kick this celebration off, we want you to meet Kaz, a man who – before he found us – had a dream but no way to make it become a reality…

Meet Kaz…

“Hi I’m Kaz and I’ve got a condition called MS (Multiple Sclerosis). I’ve always wanted to make a website focussing on the positive side of things rather than the doom and gloom you’d normally hear, but I’ve never had the time.

Then my condition got worse and I was unable to go to work. While I was off work I typed up what would be the content of site, but of course being off work I could not afford to spend what companies were asking to build my dream site.

Then one day I was searching and found PeoplePerHour.com. I was apprehensive, was I going to get what I paid for? Regardless, I signed up and posted a job.

To my relief I got a great experience! I got bids across the board from £80 to £3000, it almost seemed too good to be true – but it was true. In the end I got exactly what I wanted for a fee I could afford; in fact I believe I got really good value for money.

From being in a position where I would have had to change site to suit the company building the site, with PPH I could ask for whatever I wanted and then use the feedback and skills of the person to decide who I wanted build the site rather than just searching online the cheapest possible option.

Even better, now my site Positiveaboutms.com is up and running. It’s out there hopefully benefiting people who are affected my MS. I’ve been in the local paper (Salford Advertiser) and has been backed by MS Society and Salford Royal Hospital MS Nurses and Consultants are pushing it. Thanks to PeoplePerHour.com this is all possible!  I’d defo use the site again, I’ve since recommended it to my friends!”

Don’t just take Kaz’ word for it…

“Well done Kaz. We need more positive messages for the MS community and I am sure you will help achieve this. Keep up the good work!“

– Dr Tom Gilhooly (GP and Medical Director at Essential Health Clinic)

“Don’t isolate yourself. Keep a good sense of humour and take each day as it comes.”

– Danny Wallace (Former England and Manchester United footballer who also has MS)

UPDATE: Kaz wants to thank Andrew Soko at Isoko Design for his great work on the site. Good work Andrew!

Know a PPH SuperPerson…?

Then we’re all ears. From an amazing freelancer with that “wow” factor to a client who had the time of their lives – maybe we’re even talking about you – then we want to hear about it. Email me at martin at peopleperhour dot com and you too might find yourself right here on our blog.
